4 THE CULTURAL HEART & SEAT OF POWER
Irrigation of landscaping, street trees, water features and the Company's Gardens is afforded through the grey water system. Sub-terranean reservoirs beneath Parliament and the buildings along Queen Victoria Street could be re-instated and reserved for potable water. The possibility to open the Queen Victoria Street gracht also exists. There is an abundance of opportunity for way finder markings of the old water system and it's cultural stories throughout the precinct, as well as opportunities for public drinking fountains to be provided with a spring water connection. There are also opportunity for 'guerilla food gardens' to be created in this precinct.
