5 WATER SUSTAINABILITY PARK
PARK - a "water sustainability park” as an environmental opportunity for sustainable practice to exist within this precinct, primarily as public education and demonstration models to renew water. The dual water system with spring and potable water; and storm water; retention and detention, filtration and display; and power generation through re-instatement of water mills; the re-instatement of Graaff's Electrical (hydro-power); and the activation of old reservoirs as public amenity and many more opportunities exist. Public environmental education will be fostered through various demonstration models, to include bio-mimicry, and other water concepts, etc. These models / installations will serve as experiments for new approaches in the future. Through the recreational and interactive public use the precinct could have commercial value, too. Public drinking fountains would be provided with a spring water connection, throughout the precinct.
